Our mission is to offer psychological services to currently enrolled UA student-athletes to assist them in the pursuit of their educational and athletic goals.
Student-Athletes can utilize the following services: individual, couple, or group psychotherapy; assessment; resource/referral; topical workshops; consultation; and psychiatric services. The CAPS athletic satellite clinic is open throughout the year. There is a mental health professional on call 24 hours daily seven days a week for emergencies.
The CAPS athletic satellite clinic is housed in the Kasser Medical Treatment Center-Athletic Training Room (phone number: 621-4674 or 621-8805)
Appointments: The hours of operation at the McKale Arena are Monday through Friday 9a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Services may be scheduled by calling 621-8805 (McKale) or 621-3334 (CAPS) or in person. The student-athletes’ athletic trainer may also assist in scheduling an appointment. For the first visit, allow 15 minutes to complete initial paperwork.
The counseling staff is available in person or by telephone to assist the faculty or staff with concerns about student-athletes, such as problems in the classroom, change in academic performance, change in athletic performance, or personal issues.
