Ask yourself three questions:

1. Who are you now?
Interests, developmental needs, learning skills, preparation, background knowledge
2. How can the University help develop your intellect and foster personal development?
Opportunities for involvement and growth, inquiry and investigation, instructional options, nature of liberal arts education, graduation requirements
3. Who are you trying to become?
Curiosities, future goals, career aspirations, desired skills, knowledge and attributions

Other factors to consider:
 Available time and energy
 Demands and requirements of particular course
 Extra-curricular activities
 Desires for personal growth and development
 Ways to use courses to fulfill degree requirements

Potential results:

1. Development of additional skills
2. Increased knowledge
3. Clarification of interests and goals
4. Insight on self
5. Increased or satisfied curiosities
6. Exposure to professionals
